I'm happy to hear that there was no damage done around your area. My son, tho he's not in Houston this past week lives near Memorial Park and just west of the 610 Loop, I'm hoping that that area is not flooded much. I'm concerned, and all they tell me on the news is --flooding of Buffalo Bayou. That doesn't help me much.
Yes, YES! I did notice your new look. I love the dark background.
Here also, they predicted Tropical Storm winds and rains for last night and this morning, so we took some precautions with our hurricane shutters and getting things up off the living room floor [we have a sunken living room and if heavy rains come, we tend to have a bit of flooding at the french doors]...anyway, it was all for naught, but guess it's better to be safe than sorry.
Again, happy to hear some GOOD news from the H-town area.
I'm a retired teacher who lives with my husband of 30+ years and year old miniture dachshund,Heidi. Hubby is the reason for the blog title. I call *While You're Up* my Indian name because I hear it often in the evenings. My three daughters are grown, as are my three step-sons, but they continue to fill my life with joys and worries, as do the 7 grandchildren I share with Robert. My blog is an outlet for that little writing bug I occasionally get.

Nice take on the theme!
AND SO glad you all were spared from IKe!
Getting a little "wild" and crazy once in awhile does a body good! You can only go so long before you simply need a little fun.
So fun! :)
